Adult Religions Education
We offer a variety of Adult Education courses. Recent offerings have included: "Building Your Own Theology," "New UU -- Introduction to Unitarian Universalism," "Women's Spirituality"
Book Group
The Book Group meets once a month and discusses both fiction and non-fiction works.
Covenant Groups
Covenant Groups meet twice a month; meetings have a worship service format, the heart of which is sharing our lives. The goals of each group are to care for its members, to encourage their spiritual growth, and to meet the needs for affirmation and acceptance.
Family Friendly Dinner
About once a month we have a no-host dinner at a local, child-friendly restaurant that donates to UUFS a portion of the sales from our group.
Fund Raisers
One or more times a year we have a fund raiser party/entertainment. Past events have included: a Mardi Gras Party & Service Auction, a Blue Grass Concert, a Jazz Concert.
Meditation Group
Our meditation group meets weekly.
Men's Group
The Men's Group meets twice a month to support men in spiritual and emotional growth.
Social Concerns
We donate 100% of our non-pledge Sunday offering to non-profit organizations. We offer regular opportunities to participate in social justice activities such as the annual food drive, winter shelter food service, and Sunday Forums.
Summer BBQ Picnics
Once or twice each summer we have an intergenerational potluck picnic at a local city park.
Yosemite Retreat
Each year we organize a June weekend group outing to Yosemite Park. People schedule their own time and activities; meals are no host. Parents often organize group activities for the kids. Friday and Saturday late afternoons we gather for conversation, appetizers, and drinks. Sunday morning we have a worship service in a nearby grove.
