About Our Staff

Shirley Ranck — UUFS Interim Minister
A warm welcome to our Unitarian Universalist Fellowship! We are seekers who follow a variety of spiritual paths and draw inspiration from many religious traditions. At the same time we honor and respect each other as we share our diverse beliefs and life stories. We learn not only from ancient traditions but also from each other and from today’s arts and sciences. We welcome you whatever your race, economic status or sexual orientation. We cherish and celebrate diversity.

We have an exciting religious education program for children and adults. A program that affirms who we are as Unitarian Universalists and at the same time teaches respect for diverse beliefs. We have also been leaders in developing age-appropriate sexual education for all ages.

What holds us together as a community is our commitment to affirm seven principles which you can find here.

Patty Petrie — UUFS Director of Religious Education
Hi,     I am Patty Petrie Director of Children's Religious Education for the UUFS. I would like to invite you and your children to join us for our two programs for this year. “Traditions with a Wink” reflects the generous and open belief that all traditions are valued. “Around the Church, Around the Year” gives our younger children the opportunity to become more familiar with UU traditions and their own church community.

I am awed by the children in our Religious Education program. They always remind me that teaching is not about giving them a definite amount of knowledge, but to inspire a fervent love of truth.  •  Biography
