Nina Kalmoutis UUFS Minister
I feel privileged to have been called to serve the Unitarian Universalist
Fellowship of Sunnyvale- a warm and vibrant intergenerational community in
the heart of Silicon Valley. I am a native Californian, born in San
Francisco and raised in San Jose. My parents discovered Unitarianism in the
early 1950’s and I benefited from that discovery by participating in
stimulating religious education programs and activities as a child. My
active involvement with the youth group as a teenager provided a place to
talk about values and to experience a sense of camaraderie with other
Unitarian Universalist youth from throughout the Bay Area
During my years at San Jose State University I was fortunate to have opportunities to travel and live in different countries. Experiencing those cultures has given me a wonderful perspective from which to view my own. Returning to the area where I was raised to serve this Fellowship is a very special homecoming for me.
Please feel free to call and make an appointment to get acquainted and to
learn more about Unitarian Universalism or the Fellowship. I look forward to
meeting you!
Biography
Patty Petrie UUFS Director of Religious Education
Hi,
I am Patty Petrie Director of Children's Religious Education for the UUFS. I would like to
invite you and your children to join us for our two programs for this year. “Traditions
with a Wink” reflects the generous and open belief that all traditions are valued.
“Around the Church, Around the Year” gives our younger children the opportunity
to become more familiar with UU traditions and their own church community.
I am awed by the children in our Religious Education program. They always remind me that
teaching is not about giving them a definite amount of knowledge, but to inspire a fervent
love of truth.
