UUFS Mission Statement

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Sunnyvale is a place where a culturally, ethnically, and age diverse people come together in an atmosphere of tolerance for spiritual growth and intellectual stimulation based on liberal religious values. It is a place where children and adults find opportunities to have fun, develop friendships, participate in community service, and provide or receive support in times of need.

Welcome to Unitarian Universalism

We are people of all ages, people of many backgrounds, and people of many beliefs. We create spirituality and community beyond boundaries, working for more justice and more love in our own lives and in the world.

Unitarian Universalism affirms and promotes seven Principles, grounded in the humanistic teachings of the world’s religions. Our spirituality is unbounded, drawing from scripture and science, nature and philosophy, personal experience and ancient tradition as described in our six Sources.

Welcome to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Sunnyvale

We are one of about one thousand churches and fellowships that are part of the Unitarian Universalist Association headquartered in Boston, MA. At UUFS, our mission is to serve as a place where a culturally, ethnically, and age-diverse people come together in an atmosphere of tolerance for spiritual growth and intellectual stimulation, based on liberal religious values. It is a place where children and adults find opportunities to have fun, develop friendships, participate in community service, and provide or receive support in times of need.

We are a Welcoming Congregation

Unitarian Universalism requires only a willingness to learn, grow and be open to the spiritual journeys of yourself and others. As well, we were recognized as a Welcoming Congregation by the Unitarian Universalist Association at the culmination of our Welcoming Congregation Program, and after a congregational business meeting on May 23, 2004, when fellowship members voted unanimously to make the declaration that this Unitarian Universalist community welcomes and celebrates the presence and participation of bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender, queer, non-binary, and two-spirit people (LGBTQ+).
